Barbara A. Eberhart, 66, of Topeka, passed away on Friday, February 3, 2017 at Midland Hospice House in Topeka.

She was born February 5, 1950 in Topeka, the daughter of Ruth (Capeless) and John D. Brooke, Sr. Barbara graduated from Hayden High School. She was employed by the Kansas Department of Revenue, where she retired in 2012. She was a member of Hope Lutheran Church.

Barbara married David Eberhart on June 22, 1985 in Topeka. He survives. Other survivors include one son, Tim Eberhart of Santa Fe, New Mexico, one step-daughter, Chrystine Hannon of Topeka, one granddaughter, Emily Hannon, and her siblings, John D. (Sally) Brooke, Jr., Jim (Ellie) Brooke, Carole (Dave) Shapiro, Cathy Whitaker, Ruth (Dan) Droste, Sandy (Dave) MacGill, Sue (Gregg) Schell, Janice Brooke and Michael Brooke and many nieces and nephews.

Barbara was preceded in death by her brother, Dan Brooke in 1991. Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 7, 2017 at Penwell-Gabel Southeast Chapel, where the family will receive friends one hour prior to service time. Burial will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Hope Lutheran Church, 2636 SE Minnesota Ave., Topeka, Kansas 66605.
