"My Favorite Gospel Memories"
This CD is dedicated to my Mom, Ivy Junck. Her grandfather, August Wittler, homesteaded a farm three miles southwest of Wayne, NE in 1884. He was 19 years old, built a house, and broke the prairie with a borrowed team of oxen.
He also helped to build the old German Lutheran Theophilus Church in 1888. He and his wife, Minnie, were the first coupe to be married in the church in February, 1889. The church is pictured on the cover.
My mom grew up in that country church, and had many wonderful memories from her childhood of the people and events that took place there. This CD is a tribute to my Mom, and to the
legacy of those pioneers who carved out homes for their families from the treeless prairie. Jerry
