A message from Jerry…

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! This is the time of year when we make our New Year’s Resolutions. Now, speaking of those Resolutions: It was fun while they lasted… January 2, 2026. A New Year’s Resolution is something that goes in one YEAR and out the OTHER!!! January is the WORST month. You are fat and broke from the holidays, paler than ever, and you can’t feel your own face when you walk outside. Let’s hope all your troubles last as long as your New Year’s Resolutions.

There will be three special dances in January. Hope you can join in the fun and kick off the New Year in style.

There will be no dances at Mesa Spirit Monday through Thursday, December 29, 30, 31, 2025, because of the New Year’s Holiday.

The second Sunday Special will be January 11, 2026, and I will share the stage with Tom Allen and hopefully, Dick Rueter from Minnesota. It is always a good time.

The third Sunday, January 18, 2026 is the Celebration of Life for Chuck Weiss. It will be held in the Ballroom at Tower Point in Mesa. Larry Sperry and I will MC the dance. All callers and cuers are welcome to participate. All proceeds will be donated to the American Cancer Society.

Tuesday, January 20, 2026 is the night to celebrate the songs from the 50’s and 60’s. It is a night to remember great tunes and wear your Poodle Skirts and blue jeans.

As we begin the New Year, my hope is that we can truly be kinder and more thoughtful of those less fortunate. Keep those in need in our prayers. Even our square dance activity could use some tender loving care as well. Please support your local clubs and callers and extend a helping hand to the new dancers that we do have. Make them feel welcome.
