Virgil K. Brundage

Virgil K. Brundage, 90, of Blue Springs, Missouri, passed away Saturday, August 24, 2013, at The Groves in Independence, Missouri.

Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Tuesday, August 27, at Floral Hills Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens. Friends may call from 6:00 - 8 PM Monday, August  26, at Floral Hills.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the American Heart Association or the Cancer Society.

Virgil was born December 10, 1922, in Wichita, Kansas. He was a former deacon at New Haven Baptist Church in Raytown, Missouri. He was a World War II Navy veteran. He volunteered with Meals on Wheels for many years. He and his wife, Gina (deceased) were members of Heart of America Federation of Square Dance Clubs and was also the editor of Fed Facts for four years. He was also the president of Heart of America Federation in 1972 and 1973.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Virginia C. (Flaherty) Brundage, his father, Harley Brundage, and mother, Mable Judd Brundage. He is survived by daughter, Virginia K. Duffendack, daughter, Sharon L. Hickcox and husband Bill, and son, Michael K. Brundage and wife Chris; also 10 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews.
