Square Rounders

Square Rounders was formed in 1974 and the following year 1975 was able to be federated. The first caller was Dick Enderle and wife, Ninfa, with cuers, Everett and Peggy Myers, Rod and Susan Anderson and Warren and Mary Luggenbeel. Everett Myers and Rod Anderson were the cuers for many of the years.

Dick Enderle retired in 1985 due to his health. Mike Kelly and wife, Cindy, along with Alan Schultz and wife, Diane, shared the calling until 1988 when Alan became the full time caller.

In the spring of 1989 Everett Myers retired and Bob Coffeen and wife, Joann joined the cueing staff. With Alan Schultz as caller and Rod Anderson and Bob Coffeen as cuers, dancing was enjoyed throughout the years. In 1999, the Square Rounders still had three charter members; Jack and Sue Downs, Al and Corinne Lord plus one of the original cuers Rod and Susan Anderson.

Square Rounders danced at Cherokee Christian Church on the second and fourth Fridays with 20 active couples. They celebrated their 25th anniversary on October 22,1999.
