A message from Jerry…
February is the shortest month of the year, so if you’re expecting a miserable month, try to schedule it for February. February is also the month that we remember to cherish the ones we love. As Charles M. Schultz wrote, “All you need is love. But a little chocolate now and then doesn’t hurt:”
I would like to take this time to thank all those who attended the Celebration of Life for Chuck Weiss. It was a great crowd, and a special thank you to the callers and cuers who donated their time in memory of our friend. Because of your generosity, we were able to raise $1540 dollars, which was given to the American Cancer Society of Arizona in Chuck’s name.
It has been enjoyable to be back in Arizona, renewing old friendships and making new ones. It is obvious that we all need to work at recruiting new dancers to keep our activity vibrant and exciting. Here are some events to keep on your calendar for February:
|

|
February 8th – Second
Sunday Special with Mike Callahan |
|

|
February 10th –
Valentine’s Day Plus Dance |
|

|
February 13-15 – The
Yuma Festival with Buddy Weaver, Larry & Susan Sperry
and myself. All dancing will be at “The Shop” Dance
Hall. |
Please continue to support your local clubs and callers wherever you are. As I have always said, they are the true backbone of our activity. There is no activity that has lasted as long as square dancing, but it truly takes a village to make it happen!!!
Finally, there is no business like SNOW business. Yikes!!! What a true statement for so much of the country!!! My best wishes to everyone suffering from the snow and cold. I watch the weather every day. Stay safe and stay warm.
Finally, the photo above is the wedding photo of my Dad and Mom. Though they are gone, Happy Valentine’s Day to them on what would have been their 80th anniversary, February 1, 1946.
May God Bless you all.
